Mark’s Recovery
"For years, I struggled in silence and isolation.
As an only child, I often felt like I had to carry my worries, responsibilities, and emotions on my own.
There were times when I felt overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure where to turn because I didn't have siblings who could truly understand what I was going through.
Joining The Only Child Foundation was a turning point in my life.
Through its mental health programs, I learned healthy ways to cope with stress, manage my emotions, and ask for help without feeling ashamed.
More importantly, I found a community of people who understood my journey because they had lived it too.
For the first time, I realized I didn't have to face life's challenges alone.
I found encouragement, hope, and friendships that continue to strengthen me every day.
The Foundation didn't just improve my mental well-being—it gave me confidence, resilience and a true sense of belonging. I made new friends that i can call or chat with anytime.
Today, I know that no matter what life brings, I have a community that will always stand beside me."
Single Parent Support
Mary says.
"After my divorce, I suddenly found myself raising three young children on my own.
As an only child, the loss of both of my parents made the journey even more difficult and stressful.
There were days when I felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and completely alone. I didn't have siblings to call for advice, to share the responsibilities, or simply to remind me that everything would be okay.
Finding The Only Child Foundation gave me hope when I needed it most.
I found a caring community that understood the unique challenges of being both an only child and a single parent. Through the Foundation, I received emotional support, practical resources and the encouragement to keep moving forward.
I met people who listened without judgment, shared their own experiences and reminded me that I wasn't carrying life's burdens alone.
The Foundation helped me rebuild my confidence, strengthen my family, and create a brighter future for my children.
It also opened the door to new friendships and meaningful relationships that have enriched our lives. Today, my children and I are thriving and I know I have a community I can turn to whenever I need support.
The Only Child Foundation reminded me that even in my darkest moments, I was never truly alone."

GRIEF & LOSS SUPPORT
Bill Says,"When I lost my wife, my world changed forever. I was not only grieving the loss of my life partner, but I also had to find the strength to support my only daughter through one of the most difficult times of our lives.
As an only child myself, I understood the feeling of carrying heavy emotions without siblings to share the memories, decisions and responsibilities that come with the loss.
The days after my wife's passing were filled with sadness, uncertainty and many questions about the future. I missed having someone who shared our family memories, someone to talk to during the quiet moments and someone who could understand the depth of our loss in the same way.
Through The Only Child Foundation, I found a community that reminded me I did not have to grieve alone. I connected with people who understood the unique challenges of experiencing loss without siblings to lean on.
The support, conversations, and shared experiences helped me process my grief, find strength and become a stronger source of comfort for my only daughter.
The Foundation provided a safe place where I could chat, express my feelings, honor my wife's memory and learn healthy ways to move forward while keeping our family bond strong.
My daughter and I found a lot of encouragement, connection, and hope during a time when we needed it most.
Grief does not disappear, but healing becomes possible when you have people who walk beside you.
The Only Child Foundation gave us a reminder that even during the hardest moments of life, we are not alone and met new family with the community."

"Great conversations started here and they truly changed my life.
Before joining The Only Child Foundation, I often felt like there were experiences and feelings that were difficult to explain because I did not know many people who shared my journey as an only child.
The chat room became a place where I could be myself. Whether I was sharing a funny childhood memory, asking for advice, celebrating a personal milestone, or simply talking about everyday life, I found individuals who understood me and made me feel like I belonged.
I look forward to my breaks because I know I can come into the chat room, connect with others, laugh, share stories, and have meaningful conversations.
It has become a place where I feel supported, encouraged, and connected no matter what kind of day I am having.

HEALTH RESEARCH,AWARENESS & UNDERSTANDING.
We believe that understanding the factors behind having an only child can help create greater awareness, compassion and support.
Our foundation encourages research and education on the different life circumstances, health factors, personal choices and social conditions that may influence family size and the experiences of individuals raised without siblings.
Through research, discussions and shared knowledge, we aim to better understand the unique journeys of an only child, promote awareness of related health and family topics and provide resources that support emotional and mental well-being, personal growth and stronger communities.
By learning more about these experiences, we can create a more informed, inclusive and supportive environment where every only child feels understood and valued in the community.

FINDING CONNECTION & PURPOSE
Loraine never chose a life without children. She had hoped to become a mother but was unable to conceive. Through The Only Child Foundation, she connected with other only children who shared similar experiences. Together, they found friendship, understanding, laughter, and a renewed sense of belonging.
Through the Foundation, Loraine and her new friends began creating weekend projects that keep them active, connected, and productive while also giving them opportunities to earn extra income.
Loraine’s story is a reminder that not having children is not the end of life. Life can still be meaningful, joyful, and fulfilling. With the right support, new friendships, and a sense of purpose, there are many ways to create a life worth celebrating.
Your journey may be different from what you imagined but there is still joy, purpose, connection and possibility ahead.
